Editorial standards
Sourced, dated, reviewed and corrected.
The rules every page on this site follows before it goes up.
Every figure carries its source and its date
A number on this site names where it comes from and the date we checked it. A rule names its official text, the date it was published and the date it takes force. When a figure is our own estimate, it says so and shows how it was made.
One question, answered whole
Each page answers one question as fully as the facts allow, with the answer first and the detail after. Every fact in the free pack is also open on the site; the pack gathers it into one PDF for those who sign up.
Our books and this site
The site and the books of The Economics of Mexico series draw on the same facts, and the site is written fresh, page by page. It never reprints the books' text.
How the work is done
J Rutan Flores directs every page. The research and drafting are done with artificial intelligence tools under his direction, and he decides what each page says. Every page then passes two reviews before it goes up: one against our own rules on sources, disclosure and privacy, and, on the pages in Spanish, one for Mexican Spanish.
The Spanish pages
The pages in Spanish are written for readers in Mexico, not translated from the English. The two sides cover the same ground, and each is written for its own reader.
What we leave out
No page recommends an investment, and no page names a company because it paid to be named (see how this site is paid). This site gives information, not advice on your own case. For a written analysis of your own decision, see Work with us.
When we are wrong
We correct it, date the correction and list it on the corrections page. To report an error, write to info@rutanamex.com.
