Who buys from Mexico, and what
What Mexico sold abroad in 2025, chapter by chapter, and who bought it.
What Mexico sells
Merchandise exports by Harmonized System chapter, 2025, USD millions, with the share that went to the USA
Machinery, vehicles and electrical goods are 64% of everything Mexico sells abroad, and between 84% and 90% of each goes to the USA. Ores and oil are the exceptions: only 3% and 23% go north.
How much of each goes to the USA
Share of each of the largest export chapters sold to the USA, 2025, percent, lowest first
Across all goods, 82% went to the USA. Ores and crude oil are the two large chapters sold mostly to other countries.
Who buys after the USA
Merchandise exports by country of destination, 2025, USD millions; the USA left out so the rest can be read
The USA took USD 545,388 million. Canada, second, took 21,948 million, 4% as much. UN Comtrade also books USD 22,421 million to areas it does not name.
What is absent, and why: how much of each export is Mexican. A large share of these exports are made under the IMMEX programme with imported parts; gross exports count the whole value, so a big chapter is not the same as a big local industry. Services exports are not counted here. Exports by state are published only by sector (see Exports by state), never by partner or product.
